Matthew W. Herrington

Matthew W. Herrington is an associate attorney at DeLong, Caldwell, Bridgers, Fitzpatrick, & Benjamin, LLC. Matthew grew up in the Florida panhandle and has lived in Atlanta since completing his legal studies. Matthew’s practice focuses primarily on the areas of Fair Labor Standards Act litigation, Family Medical Leave Act litigation and employee benefits litigation. He has represented numerous clients—including both employees and employers—in matters relating to minimum wage and overtime underpayment, various forms of illegal retaliation, and employee contract and benefit disputes. Matthew is quickly becoming a specialist in the areas of tip credit law and misclassification of employees as independent contractors, and he has successfully handled a large number of such cases against Metro Atlanta nightclubs and bars. Matthew’s experience includes litigation in all of Georgia’s primary trial and appellate courts, both federal and state.
