Biography

Maura S. Kernan joined the firm as an associate in 2014. Ms. Kernan represents physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers.

She is involved in all stages of pre-trial litigation, with a particular focus on case development, legal research, fact investigation, motion support, and suit evaluation.

Prior to joining the firm, Maura served as a New York State Excelsior Service fellow with Counsel's Office for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historical Preservation.

In association with Prisoners' Legal Services of New York, Ms. Kernan represents prisoners pro bono in the appeal of administrative disciplinary decisions and Article 78 proceedings. Ms. Kernan is a member of the Young Lawyers Section and the Torts, Insurance & Compensation Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.

During law school, Maura served as symposium editor on the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology, and was a finalist in the Donna Jo Morse Negotiations Competition.
