Max Austin Montag

Max graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.A. in Political Science, and minors in Business, Sociology and History. In May 2016, Max received his J.D. from Denver University, Sturm College of Law, where he focused on trial advocacy and family law. During his first semester of 2L year of law school, Max interned at the Burnham Law Firm. Thereafter he worked as a law clerk for the firm, and from October 2016 until January 2019, Max worked as an associate attorney for Burnham Law. During his time at the Burnham Law Firm, Max was exposed to a wide range of family law and civil procedure issues, and he learned a great deal about the practice of family law from his colleagues and mentors. Not only did Max represent domestic relations clients in District Courts throughout Colorado, he also represented clients in the Court of Appeals, in which he prosecuted and defended appeals on the issues of property division, spousal maintenance, child support and attorney's fees. While practicing family law, Max recognized the importance of preparation – he always knew his clients, their cases and the law inside and out. Max is a hardworking and dedicated advocate whose attention to detail is second to none. In his free time, Max loves spending time with his family, friends and wife, Mackenzie, whom he recently married after dating since high school. He is an avid skier and enjoys other outdoor activities including hiking and camping. Max also has a passion for music and he enjoys attending live performances.
