Maximiliano A. Plá-Méndez

Maximiliano “Max” A. Plá-Méndez is a member of Fernández Cuyar Rovira & Plá LLC. Max has a diverse legal practice including individual and commercial bankruptcy, landlord-tenant issues, corporate, estate planning and general civil litigation before the federal and local courts, at both trial and appellate levels. Max has represented public and private entities, including banking and other financial institutions, commercial landlords, as well as individuals, before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Puerto Rico, as well as the Courts of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the State of Michigan. Max further advises and counsels businesses in the areas of financing, corporate governance, and general labor and corporate matters. He also advises and counsels individuals on issues of wealth preservation and estate planning, with a focus on reducing the client’s potential estate tax exposure and the protection of assets through mechanisms such as the constitution of trusts. Max’s practice also encompasses the preparation of last wills and testaments, health care directives and durable powers of attorney.

In 2015, Max Plá expanded the firm to the Continental United States by opening and operating the Kalamazoo, Michigan Office, providing legal services to individual and commercial clients in South West Michigan.

Max has experience utilizing a diverse assortment of litigation software and modern technology for the handling of bankruptcy and commercial litigation cases such as ECM, Loan-Sphere, Covisint, and Ty-Metrix.
