Megan Jean Costello

Megan J. Costello was born in Dillingham, Alaska, and spent her first couple years on the Nushagak River in New Stuyahok before spending the majority of her childhood in Kodiak, Alaska. Putting herself through college, she worked as a teacher’s assistant for the Kodiak Island Borough School District, as a camp worker at a commercial salmon setnet site, as an assistant in the Facilities Engineering section of the United States Coast Guard Base, and as a dispatcher for a charter airplane company.

Upon graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Studies, Ms. Costello worked as an Environmental Technician with the State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation in Juneau. She moved to Anchorage in 2005 and spent four years with the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities as an Environmental Analyst. In this position, she traveled throughout the Bethel region, Kenai Peninsula, and South-central Alaska obtaining and ensuring compliance with construction permits and environmental documents for numerous road and airport projects.

Ms. Costello left Alaska in 2009 to attend Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon on a Dean’s scholarship. Ms. Costello interned with the Municipality of Anchorage in 2010, and worked as a certified law clerk for the City of Troutdale, Oregon in 2011 and 2012.

After graduating law school, Ms. Costello clerked for Superior Court Judge Douglass in Dillingham, Alaska. She joined the firm in 2013. Ms. Costello brings extensive knowledge and experience of Alaska to the firm and has worked in all areas of government. She enjoys all four seasons, and spends her spare time snowboarding, cross –country skiing, backpacking, hiking, running, cycling, fishing, cooking, and berry picking.
