Megan Shore

Megan Shore joined Levin & Perconti in August 2016, and is a graduate of The John Marshall Law School (JMLS). While in law school, Megan was a JMLS Student Ambassador, a Phi Delta Phi Honor’s Society member, on the Dean’s List, a CALI Award recipient, and awarded as a Dean Johnston Academic Scholar. Out of 124 of her fellow students, Megan placed 2nd for her appellate brief and 6th in oral argument in the Herzog Moot Court Competition.

As an associate attorney at Levin & Perconti, Megan now works in nursing home abuse and neglect, medical malpractice, birth injury, and personal injury cases. During her first few months at Levin & Perconti, Megan has played a key role in recovering almost $4 million in settlements on behalf of her clients in the following case:
•$3.6 million in a medical malpractice and wrongful death case; and
•$375,000 in a nursing home case involving complications with a tracheostomy tube

Megan’s professional and educational experiences sparked her interest in medical malpractice and nursing home litigation. Megan graduated from Loyola University Chicago as a pre-medicine student with a B.A. in Biology with a minor in Business Management. During her years as an undergraduate, she worked as a patient coordinator for a prominent medical center in Chicago. As a result, she has an extensive background in science including biology, chemistry, and physics. After being accepted to medical school, Megan felt her talents were better served by advocating for unfortunate victims of medical negligence and decided to pursue a legal career in medical malpractice and personal injury.

During law school, Megan expanded her legal knowledge by also working for various firms in the Chicagoland area which provided services in immigration law, family law, real estate law, and criminal law. In 2015, Megan worked for the Illinois State’s Attorney’s Appellate Prosecutor where all her cases were successfully affirmed in favor of the appellate prosecutor.

Prior to working at Levin & Perconti, Megan was a law clerk for two years at a firm which solely prosecuted birth injury cases across the nation in state and federal court. During this time, Megan had the pleasure of assisting nationally renown attorney, Geoffrey Fieger, at trial. As a law clerk, Megan prepared research, reviewed medical records, assisted at trial, and drafted motions and briefs for cases resulting in multi-million dollar settlements and jury verdicts ranging from $4.5 million to $143 million – the largest obstetrical malpractice verdict in United States history. Megan also assisted in a case against University of Chicago Medical Center, which received a Cook County jury verdict of $53 million in July 2016.

Megan grew up in Wheaton, Illinois and enjoys spending her free time with her loving parents and boyfriend. She has a great passion for dance and travel. Megan grew up competing as an international champion Irish dancer, and also choreographed and taught a wide variety of dance including ballet, jazz, and hip hop. “I practice law the same way I dance. It requires passion, stamina, focus, attention to every detail, and the ability to engage your audience.”
