Megan Wright

Megan is a member of the specialist investment funds team at Stuarts Walker Hersant Humphries and advises on all aspects of the formation, operation and termination of investment funds.

She routinely advises fund sponsors and other stakeholders on the structuring and formation of hedge and private equity funds; the day-to-day administration of funds from a Cayman Islands law perspective (including, for example, corporate governance and fiduciary duties, investor issues, matters pertaining to illiquid portfolios and portfolio transactions); the restructuring, wind-down and liquidation of funds; and the regulatory framework governing funds and their managers in the Cayman Islands. Megan advises on the use of companies, partnerships and unit trusts in the context of investment funds as well as advising on a broad range of general corporate matters. Her clients include institutional fund sponsors, boutique investment managers and private equity houses.

Megan is a member of the digital, blockchain and fintech team and advises funds focusing on blockchain technology, bitcoin or other crypto-currency strategies.

Megan joined the Stuarts team as an Associate in 2019 having previously worked in the Corporate department of Michelmores LLP in the UK where Megan worked on a wide range of high value and complex cross-border corporate transactions including M&A, private equity/ venture capital investments, capital markets transactions, and general corporate advisory work with a focus on private wealth. Prior to her career as an Attorney, Megan worked in business development in UK private banking.
