Biography

Melissa Doris joined Burner Prudenti Law, P.C. in February 2020 as a Senior Associate and was named Partner in 2025. She spent more than a decade at a prominent Long Island trusts and estates firm where she developed extensive experience in estate planning, trust and estate administration, taxation, elder law, special needs planning, and residential real estate. Recognized in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch for Elder Law and Trusts & Estates (Setauket, NY) in the 2025 and 2026 editions, Melissa combines technical skill with practical judgment. She earned a B.A. from Stony Brook University in 2005 and graduated cum laude from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2010. A former volunteer and committee member with the Alzheimer’s Association (2015–2020), she helped establish the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Yaphank and remains an active supporter. Admitted to practice in New York, Melissa is a member of the New York State and Suffolk County Bar Associations and lives in Setauket with her family.
