Mervate Mohammad graduated Cum Laude with Honors from Loyola University of Chicago, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science with minors in Islamic World Studies and International Studies. She received her Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School, is licensed to practice in Illinois, and holds Federal General Bar admission to the Northern District of Illinois Supreme Court. Trained as a mediator through Northwestern University’s Mediation Program, Mervate brings both legal acumen and compassionate dispute resolution to her practice. She has served as counsel and clerk in firms focusing on family and corporate law, handling all stages of divorce, legal separation, orders of protection, and parentage cases. Fluent in Arabic, she is celebrated for attentive client advocacy, prioritizing each client’s goals in negotiations and courtroom proceedings. An adjunct professor of Family Law for Paralegals at Moraine Valley Community College, Mervate is active in the American, Illinois, Chicago, Arab American, and Muslim bar associations, and volunteers in community service.
