Michael Ferrara, Jr. a seasoned trial lawyer with a remarkable career
spanning five decades, boasts an impressive track record of over 250
jury trials. Hailing from Philadelphia, Michael pursued his
undergraduate education at Villanova University, earning a Bachelor
of Science degree in Mathematics. Following five years of
distinguished service as a Naval Officer, including a tour of duty in
Vietnam, he embarked on his legal journey at the University of San
Diego School of Law, where he now serves on the Board of Visitors.
As a partner at
Ferrara & Gable, LLC, Michael remains deeply entrenched in the
legal community, having served as the president of the New Jersey
Trial Lawyers Association (NJAJ) and as a former member of the Board
of Governors of the American Association for Justice (AAJ).
Recognized for his formidable legal prowess, he is a sought-after
speaker at trial lawyer seminars and holds the esteemed title of
Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. Moreover,
Michael's commitment to advocacy extends beyond the courtroom, as
evidenced by his founding of the New Jersey Trial Lawyer’s PAC and
his involvement in judicial selection committees at both county and
federal levels.
Dedicated to
philanthropic endeavors, Michael has lent his support to numerous
charitable organizations, including the Amigos de Jesus orphanage in
Honduras, West Catholic High School in Philadelphia, and the San
Miguel School in Camden. His passion for community engagement is
further evidenced by his role as the founder of the Marlton Track
Club and his involvement in coaching youth sports.
Outside the realm
of law, Michael's entrepreneurial spirit has led him to ventures such
as ownership and CEOship of Cellular One, a cellular telephone
company based in Wichita Falls, Texas. He has also ventured into the
realm of international diplomacy, serving as a guest speaker at a
joint session of the Russian legislature on the topic of home
mortgages. Additionally, Michael has shared his comprehensive legal
experience with the public through hosting The People’s Law School,
a talk radio show on WPHT, the CBS affiliate in Philadelphia.
Throughout his
illustrious career, Michael has left an indelible mark on the legal
landscape, representing clients in landmark cases such as the tobacco
litigation and the Vioxx litigation. His exceptional advocacy has
been recognized with prestigious accolades, including the ATLA-NJ
Gold Medal for Distinguished Achievement, the Trial Bar Award from
the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey (TANJ), and the State Bar
Professionalism Award. Most recently, he was honored for his pro bono
service by the New Jersey Supreme Court.
Michael's
personal life is equally enriching, as he shares his life with his
beloved wife, Penny, and takes pride in their five children and five
grandchildren. Together, they reside in Marlton, NJ, where Michael's
dedication to legal excellence and community service continues to
leave a lasting impact.
