Biography

Rosenhouse Law Office is a one-man firm concentrating in appeals within the context of a general civil practice, including legal malpractice litigation, real estate transactions, and wills, trusts, and estates, among others. Mr. Rosenhouse often works with other attorneys on appeals and motions. He is proud to have been rated “AV/Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell and “Superb” by Avvo, and to have been selected as a biographee by Marquis Who’s Who in American Law.

By way of biography: Mr. Rosenhouse was born in Chicago and grew up in Highland Park, Illinois. He received a B.A. from Yale University, majoring in history, and then joined the Navy for three years before returning home to earn a J.D. at the University of Chicago Law School. At Yale, he majored in history, spent a summer in Paris, reported, wrote, and edited for Yale Daily News, and learned how to play squash. He had a summer gig as a reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times and worked as the campus stringer for Newsweek during his undergraduate and law school years.

In the Navy, Mr. Rosenhouse served as a junior officer on the USS Forrestal, an aircraft carrier with a storied history (the famous fire was before his time). At Chicago, his team won the second-year moot court competition (Llewellyn Cup). He chaired the competition in his third year.

After graduating from U of C and practicing law for a few years in Chicago (first with a big firm, then on his own), he re-located to Rochester, New York, and has since been actively engaged in both legal practice and legal publishing. Rochester was the home of Lawyers Cooperative Publishing Company (now part of Thomson Reuters West), where he served as Managing Editor of two of its best-known national publications and for which he has authored two practice books.

The beautiful Rochester/Finger Lakes area reminds Mr. Rosenhouse of south central Wisconsin and he has found it a very nice place to practice and to live with a family. He and his family live in Pittsford. He has had some competitive success with squash, returned to his boyhood hobby of ham radio, and learned to play golf, while remaining active in the legal profession and in the community at large.

Mr. Rosenhouse is grateful that he has been able to provide for his family in a way that protects the legal rights of others.
