Biography

Michael Beckman didn’t take the traditional path to becoming one of Florida’s leading personal injury attorneys. His journey started in the creative world of theatre at the University of South Florida, where he discovered his love for storytelling and persuasion. But it wasn’t until a conversation with a friend’s father—a personal injury lawyer—that Michael found his true calling: helping those in need while excelling in a challenging profession. Inspired by the power of the law to make a difference in people’s lives, he pursued a career in personal injury law, eventually co-founding Viles & Beckman, LLC, with his business partner, Marcus Viles.

With over two decades of legal experience, Michael has dedicated his career to advocating for individuals injured due to someone else’s negligence. His work isn’t just about winning cases—it’s about standing up for people during some of the most difficult times in their lives. Clients appreciate his mix of compassion and tenacity, knowing that Michael fights for their rights as if they were his own family. Under his leadership, Viles & Beckman has become a trusted name in Florida, delivering results with a focus on service that rivals the world’s best luxury brands.

Michael’s track record speaks for itself, with landmark judgments including multimillion-dollar awards for his clients. Yet, his commitment extends beyond the courtroom. A passionate advocate for his community, Michael co-founded the Viles & Beckman Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting children and families in Southwest Florida. His vision is to create a future where every child has the resources they need to thrive, whether it’s ensuring no child goes hungry or empowering educators to inspire the next generation.

While his professional accomplishments are many, Michael’s greatest pride lies in his family. Whether spending time on the water, grilling or cheering for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he finds balance and motivation from his wife and children. It’s this strong family foundation that drives Michael’s approach to his clients and community—treating each person with the care, attention, and respect they deserve.

Michael Beckman’s journey is one of creativity, compassion, and relentless pursuit of justice. His ultimate legacy is clear: a dedicated husband and father, a leader in legal advocacy, and a pillar of generosity in the community.
