Biography

Mr. Scinta's practice is limited to personal injury cases on behalf of injured individuals, families, and groups. He has been recognized for having obtained one of the largest nursing home negligence verdicts in New York State. Mr. Scinta also has one of the only punitive damages verdicts in the State of New York. He has taken to trial just under 50 cases in his career covering all facets of personal injury law including auto injury, construction injury, nursing home neglect and abuse, and injury on property. Mr. Scinta has obtained notable results and he has been invited to join the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an organization that includes many of the top trial lawyers in the United States and is limited to trial attorneys who have achieved million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. Mr. Scinta has also commenced various class actions on behalf of injured victims.

Mr. Scinta has been asked to lecture both locally and nationally to fellow attorneys and other organizations on many topics, including auto cases, nursing home neglect, and trial techniques. Mr. Scinta received exceptional reviews from attorneys across New York State for his recent presentations on behalf of the New York State Trial Lawyers Academy. He has also authored materials for use by other attorneys in their practices, and pleadings he has authored are being published by a national publisher, Bender’s, for use by other attorneys across the country. In addition to New York State, Mr. Scinta is also licensed to practice law in the State of Pennsylvania and he has assisted other attorneys around the country with personal injury cases.

Mr. Scinta is a Past President and current board member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association (WRA). He is a member and presenter of the New York State Trial Lawyers Academy. Mr. Scinta is also the current President of the New York State Nursing Home Litigation Group. He has been appointed to serve on the New York State Trial Lawyer's Executive Committee and was recently elected as board member of the Western New York Trial Lawyers' Association by a vote of its members.

Mr. Scinta is a member of the American Association of Justice, the New York State Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association, and the Niagara County Bar Association. He is also a founding member of the New York State Nursing Home Litigation Group and a member of the National Coalition for Nursing Home Reform.

Mr. Scinta graduated college and law school with distinction. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Buffalo Law School. He also has a degree in Health Care Administration from Fredonia College-SUNY (cum laude).

Mr. Scinta resides in Buffalo, New York with his wife and five children. He is also actively involved in, and contributes to, many local charities
