EXPERIENCE

Mr. Michael C. Taylor is a member of the firm’s Trust and Estates Practice Group. Mr. Taylor is a graduate of Kalamazoo College (B.A., 2005) and he received his law degree from Wayne State University School of Law (J.D., 2008).

Mr. Taylor’s primary areas of practice are probate litigation, trust and will contests, trust and estate administration and estate planning. Mr. Taylor has extensive experience representing personal representatives, trustees, fiduciaries and beneficiaries in complex contested and non-contested estate and trust administration matters.

In addition to practicing law, Mr. Taylor currently serves as the Mayor of the City of Sterling Heights. He was first elected to the Sterling Heights City Council in 2009. In 2014, at age 31, Mr. Taylor was appointed Mayor of Sterling Heights, becoming the youngest U.S. mayor of a city with a population greater than 100,000 residents - a distinction he held for several years. In March 2025, Governor Gretchen Whitmer appointed Mr. Taylor to serve as member of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation Executive Committee. Mr. Taylor is also actively involved in the South East Michigan Council of Governments, the Michigan Mayors Association, Michigan Municipal League, and serves in a leadership role with the U.S. Conference of Mayors, along with a number of other civic and charitable organizations.

Mr. Taylor enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Christina and children, Clara, Hudson and Theodore.
