Partner Michael Lang concentrates his practice on insurance defense litigation, representing insurance companies and their insureds in state and federal courts across Pennsylvania and West Virginia. His experience spans cases of varying complexity, from rear-end auto accidents to catastrophic loss and death cases. Throughout his 35+ year career, Mike has successfully tried over 100 jury trials on behalf of his clients.
Mike’s defense work encompasses a wide range of personal injury lawsuits, including those involving automobile accidents, property loss, product liability, premises liability, construction accidents, construction defects, commercial vehicle accidents, bad faith lawsuits, and insurance coverage disputes. He represents clients across various industries, including manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and construction.
Mike also has significant experience handling complex auto and trucking litigation, including intersection accidents, pedestrian accidents, multi-car highway accidents, bad faith disputes, and cases involving limited tort. His premises liability practice includes defending clients in matters such as slip and falls, sidewalk defects, negligent property maintenance, assault or inadequate security, and ATV and UTV accidents.
In addition to personal injury defense, Mike represents individuals as well as local, regional, and national companies in breach of warranty matters and claims for violation of the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law. Mike also has extensive experience defending clients in defamation cases, successfully representing individuals, businesses, and public figures against claims of libel and slander.
Prior to joining Margolis Edelstein, Mike was a shareholder with Malone Middleman, P.C., and an associate with Sharlock, Repcheck & Mahler.
