Michael Doneskey is an attorney at Dubin Law Group who represents people injured through the negligence of others. He approaches personal injury law with a strong emphasis on communication, preparation, and understanding the full impact an injury has on a client’s life. Michael believes that effective representation begins with listening to the client, understanding what they have gone through, and making sure their story is fully presented to the insurance company.
Michael brings a unique perspective to his work as an attorney because his experience in personal injury began before he became an attorney. Prior to practicing law, he worked directly as a case manager on active personal injury cases, serving as a primary point of contact for clients and helping manage cases from assignment through resolution. That ground-level experience continues to shape Michael’s approach today. He works to position each case for the strongest possible result while helping clients understand the practical considerations involved in settlement and litigation so they can make informed decisions about their future.
Michael’s interest in the intersection of business, communication, and law began early. He attended Seattle University’s Albers School of Business and Economics through its selective accelerated Business & Law program, combining a foundation in business with his legal education before earning his Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law. The program emphasized critical thinking, analytical ability, business knowledge, and strong written and oral communication. Michael continues to draw on those skills when evaluating cases, negotiating with insurance companies, solving problems, and advocating for his clients.
For Michael, personal injury cases are ultimately about people rather than claim numbers. An injury can affect a person’s health, ability to work, finances, relationships, and everyday quality of life. He takes pride in building relationships with his clients, keeping them informed throughout the process, and ensuring that insurers understand the complete impact of what his clients have experienced. His goal is to combine compassionate client service with determined advocacy on behalf of people who need someone firmly in their corner.
Throughout his life, Michael has also been heavily involved in public speaking and community leadership. He served as President and Vice President of Education for Toastmasters, where he helped others develop their communication and public-speaking skills, and has spoken before community organizations throughout Washington. He believes the ability to listen carefully, communicate clearly, and tell a compelling story is an important part of effectively advocating for an injured client.
Outside of the practice of law, Michael is a lifelong musician who performs on piano and percussion. He is also a former nationally ranked tennis player, reaching the top 10 in the Pacific Northwest and top 300 in the United States. In his free time, he enjoys music, sports, travel, and spending time with family and friends.
