Mr. Duncan has extensive trial and courtroom experience representing clients in business and other types of disputes in federal and state courts. He has successfully represented clients in trials and disputes involving contract disputes, fiduciary duty breaches, disputes amongst business partners or co-venturers, misappropriation of trade secrets, tortious interference claims, franchise disputes, non-compete agreements, and confidentiality agreements, collections, real estate disputes, fraud, misrepresentation, bankruptcy and creditor’s rights, conversion (theft), patent disputes, trademark, and copyright infringement claims, computer fraud and abuse, data theft, insurance contract disputes, property damage claims, real estate disputes, and trust and estate-related litigation.

Mike Duncan has significant experience in family law matters such as divorce, dissolution of marriage, custody battles, support disputes, paternity matters, and domestic violence issues.

Mr. Duncan regularly represents clients in all types of appeals in federal and state courts. Mike Duncan primarily works from his Jacksonville, Florida offices, but he has routinely represented clients in matters throughout the rest of Florida and the United States. In addition to being admitted to all state and federal courts in Florida, Mr. Duncan is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and several other federal courts.

Mike Duncan is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court Mediator and is certified as a mediator by the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, and regularly mediates civil matters.

Mr. Duncan is a 1989 graduate of Drexel University (where he studied engineering) and a 1994 graduate of Rutgers University School of Law, where he was named a Dean’s Scholar and appointed by the faculty to be Research Chair of the Hunter Advanced Moot Court Board. Following law school, he served as a law clerk for the Hon. Howard T. Snyder, United States District Court, Middle District of Florida. Mr. Duncan then went on to become an equity partner with one of the nation’s largest corporate law firms as well as a well-respected ligation boutique.

Mr. Duncan has earned an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest possible ranking, and has maintained that rating continuously for 15 years. He has been named one of North Florida’s top attorneys by 904 and Jacksonville Magazines and has been regularly recognized by Florida Trend magazine as one of Florida’s Legal Elite. Mr. Duncan has achieved a 10/10 rating from AVVO. Mr. Duncan is a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society, which recognizes excellence among litigation and trial attorneys, and has been named to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Mr. Duncan is a Master of the Bench on the Chester Bedell Chapter of the American Inns of Court, a prestigious invitation-only society of trial lawyers and judges, and previously served as its Counselor and on its Executive Committee in other capacities. Mr. Duncan previously served on the Board for Hope Haven Children’s Clinic and Family Center and is a 2013 graduate of Leadership Jacksonville.
