Michael was born in Richmond, Virginia, on October 13, 1966. In 1989, Michael graduated with honors from the University of Windsor, Canada, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science. He later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit and was admitted into the bar in 1992. Since 1996, he has been a managing partner of Mihelich & Kavanaugh, PLC.
