Biography

Michael Simon is a Criminal Defense and Personal Injury Attorney at the law firm Weiseman DiGioia, P.A. Mr. Simon appears regularly in Municipal and Superior (County) Courts throughout North and Central New Jersey representing individuals accused of committing criminal offenses. Whether defending against Traffic and Disorderly Persons Offenses in Municipal Court or First Degree Crimes in Superior Court, Mr. Simon serves his clients well by utilizing a comprehensive understanding of the law, practical experience and passion to achieve successful and just results for his clients. These principles, which have guided him well in the defense of the criminally accused, have also complemented his practice in representing individuals who have been hurt in personal injury matters.

Mr. Simon has trial experience in both Municipal and Superior Courts. Mr. Simon has obtained acquittals in jury trials on serious matters including charges of Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and other Theft related offenses. Understanding that every case is a serious matter, Mr. Simon employs the same devotion to his clients charged with minor offenses. Mr. Simon’s passion to protect the constitutional rights of his clients has lead to successful results in DUI matters, theft offenses, drug possession, distribution of CDS, assaults and numerous other offenses.

Mr. Simon graduated from Widener Law School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where he participated in the Civil Law Clinic serving low-income clients. Mr. Simon also received an award for the “Most Outstanding Board Member” for his contributions as Vice President of the Moot Court Honor Society. He also received his B.A. from Fordham University at the Rose Hill Campus in the Bronx, NY.

Before Mr. Simon was an Associate at the firm, Mr. Simon served as the law clerk to the Honorable Joseph P. Donohue, J.S.C. of the Union County Superior Court, Criminal Division.

He was also a solo practitioner concentrating on Juvenile matters, Post-Conviction Relief petitions, civil litigation, and Appeals.

Mr. Simon is licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey, the State of New York and the District of New Jersey in Federal Court. Mr. Simon is a member of the Union County Bar Association, the Richard J. Hughes Inns of Court, and the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in New Jersey. He also is a Board Member for the Historical Society of Elizabeth, NJ, Inc.
