Biography

Mike Vangel represents clients in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including consumer class actions, construction disputes, and appellate work.

Mike handles various aspects of the litigation process, from case initiation and discovery to motion practice and briefing. He has experience managing multimillion-dollar construction disputes, coordinating appellate teams for Supreme Court petitions, and leading internal investigations for clients facing federal and state regulatory inquiries.

• Prepared a client’s corporate representative for depositions in a national consumer class action, leading plaintiffs to abandon class certification and agree to highly favorable settlement terms.°

• Drafted amicus brief for client, successfully petitioning U.S. Supreme Court to uphold constitutionality of firearm restrictions for domestic violence abusers in United States v. Rahimi, 602 U.S. (2024).°

• Successfully helped an insurance client intervene in adversary proceeding related to a complex involuntary bankruptcy proceeding regarding claimed $180 million losses in Ponzi scheme.°
