Miles H. Hickman

Miles H. Hickman is a partner and trial attorney at Roman Austin Car Accident and Personal Injury Lawyers, headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, representing people injured in accidents; car, truck, and bike crashes and premises liability incidents, and families bringing wrongful death claims.

Miles started on the other side. He clerked at an insurance defense firm in St. Petersburg while still in law school, stayed on after graduation, and spent the first six years of his career there, rising to manage a legal team of more than ten and handling personal injury claims at every stage, from first notice through trial. He has served as both first and second chair trial counsel.

He joined Roman Austin in 2023 and was named partner in 2025. He builds cases the way he was trained to defend them: prepared for trial from the outset rather than positioned for settlement.

Born and raised in Lakeland, Miles has lived in central Florida his entire life. He earned a B.S. in legal studies and history from the University of Central Florida in 2014 and his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 2017, and was admitted to The Florida Bar the same year.

Miles has been recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs and selected to Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars in 2025 and 2026. He joined the Million Dollar Advocates Forum in 2024 and is working toward board certification as a civil trial attorney. He is a member of The Florida Bar, the Florida Justice Association, the St. Petersburg Bar Association and the Clearwater Bar Association.
