Mitch grew up in the rural village of Almont, Michigan where he “worked” on his grandfather's farm. This was during a boom time in Almont's history, marked by the addition of a second street light and a McDonald's!It was here that he learned the skillful art of negotiation watching his grandfather's shrewd horse-trading talents, bargaining for all sorts of unusual animals, from fainting goats, Flemish Giants (rabbits which can weigh over 20 pounds) and Silkies to llamas and emus. Mitch credits his small town upbringing and his grandfather for his respect for hard work and his love of family.After law school, Mitch married his high school sweetheart and moved back to Michigan, where he currently lives with their two young sons. He is an eclectic reader and recent Kindle-convert and enjoys all types of books from classic literature to popular mystery novels. He enjoys running (he learned in law school that this helps relieve stress!), and has even earned special recognition in the Warrior Dash, a 5K obstacle course race with 12 world-class obstacles. With his body painted green from head to toe and adorned with a shell and the appropriate weapon, Mitch (as one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) was awarded the prize for the best costume, becoming a celebrity for a day! Today his running is not as glorious, and most often with one of his sons in tow with a nearby park as the ultimate destination.
