Biography

In 2022, Mitch joined PMT as Special Counsel and serves as the Firm’s General Counsel. With over thirty-five years of experience, including a twenty-year relationship with PMT, Mitch focuses on select clients and substantial matters in insurance/reinsurance, commercial real estate, financial services, and other industries. His practical approach emphasizes efficient dispute resolution of even the most complex matters, whether by negotiation (including early mediation), leveraging a client’s industry stature, or accelerated adjudication by, for example, targeted dispositive motion practice or framed issue hearings. For the select matters that need to be fully tried, Mitch’s experience includes taking jury and bench verdicts, awards in arbitrations, and appeals. He has litigated in federal and state courts throughout the United States and a variety of arbitral forums (such as ARIAS, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the American Arbitration Association, and JAMS). Mitch also spearheads matters before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and various state and municipal human rights agencies.

Mitch’s first-chair experience includes first and third-party claims, various disputes involving agents, intermediaries, and brokers, allocation issues among insurers, numerous coverage and liability issues arising from construction, industrial, environmental, and contamination losses, and significant premises liability and products liability claims. In addition to disputes about substantial sums, Mitch defends and prosecutes injunction disputes in courtrooms and before arbitration panels arising out of, for example, a competitor’s raids of employees and intellectual property as well as restrictive covenants.

Mitch advises clients regarding employment law, licensing agreements, and a range of business issues, including C-suite and middle management compensation and other employment terms. He also serves as counsel to municipal zoning and planning boards and as municipal litigation counsel.
