Formerly the managing shareholder of the esteemed Portland criminal
defense firm Kohlmetz, Steen & Hanrahan, PC, Mr. Kohlmetz
embarked on a new endeavor on January 1, 2018, when he founded the
Law Office of Andrew M. Kohlmetz, LLC. This move allowed him to
better serve his valued clients and cater to their individual legal
needs.
With
a primary focus on defending individuals facing serious and complex
felony charges in federal court, Mr. Kohlmetz passionately advocates
for the rights of good people entangled in challenging legal
situations. He handles cases in all Oregon federal and state courts,
utilizing his expertise to navigate the intricacies of the legal
system and provide robust defense strategies.
In
addition to his criminal defense work, Mr. Kohlmetz also undertakes a
select number of appeals in the Ninth Circuit federal court of
appeals. His professional memberships include The United States
District Court for the District of Oregon, The United States Court of
Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, The Oregon State Bar Association, the
Oregon Criminal Defense Attorneys Association (OCDLA), and the
National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys (NACDL) Over his
