Mr. Bill Frederick

Bill Frederick brings a career-long focus on criminal law to his work at Banks & Brower, where he has been part of the team since February 2019. Before moving into private practice, he served for nine years as a Deputy Prosecutor in Marion County and built broad experience across several divisions. He started in the Juvenile Division, handling thousands of matters from misdemeanors to major felonies and learning how to move cases efficiently while still paying attention to the details that matter. Bill then advanced to the Municipal Division, prosecuting Level 6 felonies and trying cases in court, both to judges and to juries. During his last five years with the prosecutor’s office, he worked in the Major Felony Division and tried over 20 murder and attempted murder cases with a strong record of success. He also worked in the Special Crimes Unit alongside homicide detectives, helping investigate serious cases and determine when murder charges were appropriate. Bill finished his prosecutorial service as Supervisor of Criminal Court 5, supervising three major felony deputy prosecutors. Raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Bill earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Creighton University and later received his J.D. and a Master’s in Sports Administration from Valparaiso University. He and his wife, Stephanie, live in Indianapolis with their two children.
