Brandon Calheim brings decades of courtroom experience and a practical, no-nonsense approach to criminal defense. He understands that when people find themselves facing criminal charges, they are often navigating one of the most difficult moments of their lives. Brandon meets those situations with steady confidence, clear communication, and a deep respect for the individuals he represents.
Brandon began his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in Multnomah County, where he spent seven years handling a wide range of cases, starting with misdemeanors to serious felonies. He tried more than one hundred jury trials and developed particular courtroom experience as the Felony DUII prosecutor.
After his time at the DA’s office, Brandon transitioned into criminal defense in private practice, where he continued building on his extensive trial experience. His years in the courtroom have given him a strong sense of how cases unfold, how decisions are made, and what it takes to advocate effectively for his clients.
In addition to his legal career, Brandon brings a unique professional background as a Purchasing Manager for Alpenrose Dairy, where he has led contract negotiations, managed vendor relationships, and implemented operational improvements that significantly reduced costs and increased efficiency. This experience reflects his ability to analyze complex situations, solve problems strategically, and deliver results—skills that carry directly into his legal work.
Raised by a single mother with limited financial resources, Brandon developed a strong sense of resilience and perspective early in life. That background continues to shape his approach as an attorney—he does not judge his clients and understands that people can find themselves in difficult situations. He believes in treating everyone with fairness and respect, and in helping clients move forward with dignity.
Outside of the office, Brandon enjoys running, water skiing, and coaching youth basketball and soccer in his community. He values time with others and believes that even small moments—like a simple smile—can make a meaningful difference.
