Mr. Carl E. Woock, Esq.: Attorney with Steve Smith Trial Lawyers

Biography

Carl Woock is a litigator and trial lawyer, whose practice focuses on civil matters.

For many years, Carl represented Maine hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other professionals in medical malpractice claims. In defending healthcare providers in high-stakes litigation, Carl has ample experience preparing for cases involving serious injuries and complex technical issues. Since expanding his practice beyond the niche of medical negligence, Carl has handled a wide range of cases, from constitutional lawsuits against Maine politicians to canine custody battles between exes to multi-million-dollar inheritance disputes among heirs. Carl also takes pride in his work as an appellate advocate, having briefed and argued numerous matters before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. While not every case may involve catastrophic losses or nuanced legal issues, Carl approaches his work focused on how to help achieve every client’s individual goals, taking seriously his role as an efficient and zealous advocate.

Carl attended Bowdoin College in Brunswick, and graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law, cum laude, in 2015. While at law school, Carl co-authored a law review article with constitutional law professor Jason Mazzone. Their article was published in the North Carolina Law Review.

Carl shares his home with three dogs, a rabbit, and a very patient girlfriend. When not at his desk, Carl is an avid soccer fan, frequent runner, enthusiastic hiker, reluctant gardener, and gradually-improving chef.
