Biography

Christopher D. Thomas has founded his practice of law on the principles of assertive, energetic, yet personable representation of clients who face the most difficult of legal challenges. He is also available to represent U.S. military uniformed service members, their dependents, and military civilian contractors throughout the Pacific. Mr. Thomas is a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University (link http://www.nebrwesleyan.edu/), Creighton University School of Law (Juris Doctorate) (link http://www.creighton.edu/law/), and U.S. Air Force Officer Training School (present rank of Captain, USAF Reserve JAG Corps (link http://www.afjag.af.mil/)). He is a member in good standing of the Colorado State Bar and admitted to Supreme Court and Federal District Courts of Colorado since 1999; admitted to U.S. Court of Military Appeals in 2000; member of the Hawai'i State Bar, and admitted to the Supreme Court and Federal District Court of Hawai'i since 2004. He is a member of the Hawai'i State Bar's Family Law Section. Chris is a former felony-level prosecuting attorney for the U.S. Air Force's active-duty JAG Corps and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Hawai'i. He is qualified and certified as a USAF JAG Defense attorney (2001-2004), and served Service members of the Pacific Air Forces in Hawai'i, Guam, Japan, and Korea. He is a former clerk to the Honorable Joseph F. Bataillon, U.S. District Court Judge, Omaha, Nebraska (1999). He is a formally trained mediator, and present Master's Candidate (Creighton University) in Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (2009-2010). Chris' primary focus of practice is in the litigation arena; with a strong focus on Family law litigation, including divorce, custody, post-divorce enforcement, guardianship and paternity matters. He is highly experienced in the advancement and defense of both criminal and civil restraining order matters. Mr. Thomas' criminal defense practice covers all degrees of litigation in all Court systems of Hawai'i; including the State and Federal Courts, as well as all service's military courts martial. He also represents clients in all legal matters involving the Uniform Code of Military Justice, also covering administrative discharge matters, non-judicial punishment, demotion actions, security clearance resolution, and medical discharge proceedings. Qualified and Certified as a U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate; Qualified and Certified as a Defense and Trial Counsel for practice before Military Courts Martial.
