Biography

Chris Stratton was born and raised in northwestern New Jersey and relocated to the Sunshine State to attend Florida State University in Tallahassee. He obtained a degree in Media Communications and was employed by various media outlets. Chris also worked for the Florida state legislature prior to law school.

Chris attended the University of Miami School of Law where he was named to the Dean’s List and earned academic honors in his “Litigation Skills” course, among others. He graduated cum laude in the top 20% of his class and was a member of two scholarly publications – the University of Miami Entertainment & Sports Law Review and the University of Miami Business Law Review.

Chris has been aggressively litigating cases throughout Florida for two decades. He has been with the firm for over 18 years. From Jacksonville to Key West…from the Panhandle to Palm Beach, Chris effectively defends major corporations and insured individuals in various types of civil cases including: automobile negligence, construction and industrial accidents (waste/gas/oil/energy industries), insurance coverage issues, negligent security, premises liability, products liability, professional negligence, property damage, public entity defense, transportation and trucking, wrongful death, toxic torts, and subrogation. Although he is a defense attorney, Chris has the unique experience of having successfully recovered a settlement or verdict of $1 Million or more for a subrogation client. Chris has also been involved in defending newsworthy claims arising from the Deep Water Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and the Champlain Towers South condominium collapse in Surfside.

Chris is admitted to the Florida Bar, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He is a past committee member of the Torts & Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association. He was named to Florida SuperLawyers© Rising Stars six years in a row (2011-2016), SuperLawyers© (2024), named a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, recognized as a Top Lawyer by Palm Beach Illustrated (2020-2023) and named to the 2024 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for Product Liability Litigation and Transportation Law.

Chris resides in Boca Raton, Florida. Away from work, he likes to spend time with his family, follow college sports, play the guitar, listen to music and enjoy the wonderful Florida outdoors.
