Biography

Mr. O'Brien is AV rated by his peers. He defends and prosecutes tort, malpractice, employment and bad faith actions and specializes in trial and appellate work and insurance coverage matters. He has practiced law for the last 31 years and has successfully prosecuted more than 90 jury trials. He is one of the first New Mexico lawyers to be recognized as a civil trial specialist. He served as President of the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association in 1999, and is an "Advocate" member of the American Board of Trial Advocates ("ABOTA") and served as President of the New Mexico Chapter of ABOTA in 2014. He was given the "Quality of Life - Legal Employer Award" by the State Bar of New Mexico in June 2001. He served as the President of the State Bar of New Mexico in 2004.
