Biography

DaSean Jones is a decorated Army combat veteran, former Harris County judge, and skilled trial lawyer with a distinguished and multifaceted career in the legal field. The first born to a U.S. Army Non-Commissioned Officer and a dedicated mother who met while studying at Voorhees College in South Carolina, DaSean was raised with a strong foundation of discipline and selfless service. Few attorneys match the depth and breadth of his life experiences, which encompass military leadership, legal advocacy, and judicial service.

DaSean’s impressive career includes roles as a trial attorney, U.S. Army Judge Advocate, Texas district judge, and military trial judge. His counsel is built upon over two decades of service, including two combat deployments and extensive courtroom experience. As a district judge in Harris County—one of the nation’s largest and most complex jurisdictions—he masterfully managed an intense docket with fairness and efficiency.

Throughout his career, DaSean has been a steadfast advocate for everyday citizens, focusing on both personal injury and employment law. From the beginning, he has handled a wide range of personal injury cases, including bus accidents, motor vehicle collisions, and burn injuries. One case that left a lasting impact on him involved securing a settlement for a young girl with a burn injury—an outcome he later learned helped her pay for college. That experience reinforced his passion for advocating on behalf of those facing unexpected hardships.

In addition to personal injury, DaSean has represented employees in challenging workplace discrimination and consumer protection cases under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Chapter 21 of the Texas Labor Code, and the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. As his practice expanded, he took on cases involving the Nursing Practice Act, the Texas Medicaid Fraud Prevention Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, further strengthening his ability to fight for workers’ rights.

DaSean has proudly and vigorously represented clients, prosecuting cases before county, district, immigration, and federal courts in Texas and across the United States. He has also skillfully defended clients in FLSA and other business matters.

To continually refine his trial skills, DaSean has participated in training and educational programs offered by leading legal organizations such as the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA), the American Association for Justice (AAJ), and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA). His commitment to ongoing legal education ensures he remains a strong advocate for his clients, dedicated to securing justice and fair compensation for those he represents.

Recognized by his peers as a resourceful problem-solver and legal strategist, DaSean is renowned for his wisdom, poise under pressure, and sharp foresight. He has served as lead or solo counsel in over 30 jury trials and tribunals, and as a presiding judge in more than 70 jury trials—building a reputation for integrity and judicial insight.

At his core, DaSean embodies the ideal of a soldier-citizen. Achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, his leadership and dedication to public service remain evident in every facet of his life. DaSean has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and Combat Action Badge. His training includes Field Artillery Basic Course, Armor Captain's Career Course, Cavalry Leadership Course, Military Judge school, Airborne School, and the Joint Fires Control Course. His rare combination of experiences—as a combat veteran, state-elected official, and trial attorney—makes him a formidable advocate and a trusted voice in the legal community.

In 2011, he founded a highly successful law practice focused on personal injury, employment law, and criminal defense. In 2019, he became the first combat veteran, and first minority elected to preside over the 180th Criminal District Court, transitioning from his civil plaintiff practice to serve the people of Harris County.

Disheartened by divisive politics but fueled by his passion for justice, DaSean eventually stepped away from the bench after earning over 4.5 million votes in a statewide election campaign. His return to the frontlines of advocacy reflects his unwavering commitment to helping those in need. Today, he dedicates the balance of this practice to those who are harmed by wrongdoing of others. The mission is to tirelessly serve Texans and Americans across the nation suffering from wrongful death, trucking, car, workplace incidents, and other negligence resulting in harm to his clients. In addition, he serves as counsel to some small and mid-size businesses. His unique background, legal acumen, and dedication to justice make him an unparalleled ally for those seeking a strong advocate.
