Biography

David B. Mitchell, Esq. is an accomplished attorney with the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell’s Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers and holds a Superb rating from Avvo. A member of the Florida Bar and its Family Law Section, he was named to the Super Lawyers list in 2020 for marital and family law, an honor given to only 5% of Florida attorneys. Mr. Mitchell has also received the Distinguished Service Award from the Dade County Bar Association for his volunteer work with the Guardian Ad Litem program. He is a Florida Supreme Court-certified family court mediator, collaboratively-trained family attorney, and qualified arbitrator, having mediated hundreds of family court cases and homeowner insurance disputes for the Florida Department of Financial Services.

A past president of the Coral Gables Bar Association, he has been recognized with its President’s Award and the Put Something Back Award. Mr. Mitchell is a long-time community leader, having served on numerous civic and charitable boards, including the Rotary Club of Coral Gables. He is also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, where he currently serves as Flotilla Commander at Sector Miami.
