David B. Coffin is the pioneering founder of David Coffin PLLC, a law firm concentrating exclusively on IRS controversies and disputes for individuals and businesses across Texas. Before establishing his firm in November 2010, David honed his skills as a Trial Attorney with the Department of Justice Tax Division for over 11 years, representing the IRS in complex cases across bankruptcy and federal district courts in Texas. David has also adeptly managed cases related to federal tax lien enforcement and Trust Fund Recovery Penalty assessments. Since departing the DOJ, his extensive experience has continued to yield successful outcomes for his clients, fostered by a dedicated team. An optimist at heart, David infuses each case with a positive approach. He holds a BBA in accounting and a law degree from the University of Oklahoma and is both a licensed attorney and certified public accountant in Oklahoma and Texas. Residing in Grapevine, Texas, with his wife Sonja and three children, David is also an adjunct professor at SMU Dedman School of Law.
