Biography

Mr. Butterbaugh has been Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2010. Only ten percent of all attorneys in Texas are Board Certified in any practice area, and fewer than one percent are Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law. Board Certification is a mark of excellence and a distinguishing accomplishment. Board Certified lawyers are the only attorneys allowed by the State Bar of Texas to publicly represent themselves as a specialist in a select area of the law. For more information on the value of working with a Board Certified attorney, visit the Texas Board of Legal Specialization website at www.tbls.org.

David has been or currently is active in several organizations, including the San Antonio Estate Planners Council, the Planned Giving Council of San Antonio, and the San Antonio Christian Business Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army San Antonio Area Command and chairs its Programs Committee. In addition, he also serves as an Elder at Grace Community Church of San Antonio (www.gccsatx.com). He is married to Adela and has been blessed with three wonderful children.

Member, The College of the State Bar of Texas

The College of the State Bar of Texas, the only organization in the United States formed for this purpose, is an honorary society of lawyers, chartered by the Supreme Court of Texas in 1981, to recognize and encourage lawyers who maintain and enhance their professional skills and the quality of their service to the public by completing at least double the required hours of continuing legal education each year. The College also sponsors or otherwise assists in educational activities of significant merit and widespread relevance and applicability to the legal profession.
