Biography

David W. Evoy is Of Counsel to the firm and an attorney in Cooper Levenson’s Estate Planning and Administration and Probate Litigation practice groups.

David is based in Cooper Levenson’s Fort Lauderdale office. His primary concentration is in the areas of estate planning, estate administration, probate litigation, probate administration, complex trust administration, Will contests, undue influence and guardianship in Florida and New Jersey.

Licensed in Florida and New Jersey, David offers guidance and assistance to clients who split their time between the two states, a common practice for those who enjoy temperate weather year-round.

During his years in law school, David was a Member of the Moot Court Society and the Notre Dame Summer Law Program in London, England.

Credentials

In addition to his work in estate planning and administration, probate litigation, Will contests, and guardianship, David is certified by the Florida Department of Insurance to provide seminars and continuing education to insurance adjusters and claims professionals in Florida Workers Compensation law.

David’s background also includes significant experience in civil litigation defense, premises liability, automobile negligence, personal injury protection (PIP), property damage, insurance defense and workers’ compensation in a multi-county practice in Circuit, County and Administrative Courts. His litigation experience includes workers’ compensation, subrogation claims, automobile negligence, property damage, premises liability and general liability. In additiona, David is experienced in the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, insurance defense, regulatory compliance, and subrogation.
His reported decisions include Dieujuste vs. J. Dodd Plumbing, Inc., 3 So.3d 1275, Fla 1st. DCA 2009.
