Mr. Derek Lee Harper

Derek is a partner at Schiller & Hamilton Law Firm, a South Carolina plaintiff’s firm with offices in Beaufort, Charleston, Lancaster, and Rock Hill. Operating out of and managing the Firms’ office in his hometown of Lancaster, Derek represents injured clients from the Piedmont, Midlands, and Pee Dee regions of the State.

After joining the South Carolina bar in 2011, Derek began his career representing clients in a broad range of legal matters, including civil, criminal, domestic, and probate issues. Since 2016, Derek has focused his practice on representing injured clients, seeking the justice and compensation they deserve and helping them to recover physically, emotionally, and financially. In that time, Derek has led or played an active role in securing tens of millions of dollars in compensation for his clients. For the past six years, Derek has been named one of South Carolina’s Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers Association. In addition to serving his clients professionally, Derek seeks to serve the communities in which he practices; Schiller & Hamilton has a long tradition of supporting numerous local charities and organizations throughout South Carolina. When not advocating for his clients, Derek is active in the chamber of commerce, serves on non-profit boards and volunteers, and is currently the President of the Lancaster County Bar Association.
