Mr. Abt received his college degree (B.A.) in Japanese history, summa cum laude (with highest honors), from Emory University in 1992. He also graduated from Emory Law School in 1995, and was a candidate for law review at the Washington College of Law, American University. He is a member of the Georgia and Illinois Bars, a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Abt is admitted to practice law before federal and state courts throughout Georgia and Illinois.
