Biography

Edward graduated from Spring Hill College, with honors. He won a full scholarship to Tulane Law School when he was 18 years old. He was inducted into the Order of the Coif at Tulane. From there he went to New York University, from which he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Taxation.

In 1966, he met the late Vivian G. (“Sec”) Johnston and the late William Brevard Hand (later Judge Hand), and was hired by them to be a member of their firm’s Tax Department.

Ed studied under and collaborated with Sec for over 25 years before becoming a sole practitioner for another 25 years, and then became of counsel to the firm Galloway, Wettermark & Rutens, LLP. Ed continued to represent Judge Hand to the time of his death.

Ed is a member of the Alabama Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar and the Mobile Bar Association.
