Biography

James "Jim" Goodnow is a senior associate attorney in the Tampa, Florida office of WSHB. His practice focuses on representing insurance carriers in coverage disputes, as well as their insured clients in liability claims.

Jim was born and raised in upstate New York. He graduated with honors from the State University of New York at Oswego and attended law school in his hometown at Syracuse University College of Law.

Following law school, Jim moved to Florida and began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney, where he tried numerous cases involving the most serious crimes and worst criminals, quickly earning a reputation as an aggressive trial attorney.

Jim has successfully defended multiple Florida insurance carriers in a variety of homeowner insurance claims, as well as representing insured clients in various liability cases at trial throughout the state. His success is reflected in the favorable verdicts he has obtained.

He is admitted to practice law in both New York and Florida, including before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
