Biography

James F. Kahn was educated at Wayne State University Law School, admitted to the State Bar of Arizona September 23, 1972. He is the founding shareholder of Kahn & Ahart, PLLC / Bankruptcy Legal Center™.  He is rated AV-Preeminent® by the Martindale-Hubbell National Legal Directory1 and holds a 10.0 rating with Avvo. Jim has been certified as a Bankruptcy Specialist by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization continuously since 1988. Mr. Kahn represents both creditors and debtors in bankruptcy, with special emphasis in assisting small businesses and individuals in obtaining relief under the United States Bankruptcy Code. Mr. Kahn is a past-chairman of the State Bar of Arizona Bankruptcy Section and of the State Bar Creditors' and Debtors' Rights Committee. He previously served as chairman of the Western Region of the Commercial Law League of America and past-president of the Arizona Bankruptcy Coalition. He is also a Master in the Arizona Bankruptcy American Inns of Court. Mr. Kahn served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Phoenix School of Law (now Arizona Summit Law School) and has been named a Southwest SuperLawyer, 2007-2009 & 2012-2023. I found it unsettling that he charged for an initial consultation. It was my understanding that lawyers generally do not do that.
