Biography

Jim Biggart makes it a priority to ensure that every client is represented like he would want his own family member represented.

Jim Biggart is the managing partner of Morgan & Morgan’s offices in Charleston, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. With nearly 30 years of experience in the courtroom, Jim has collected jury verdicts and settlements totaling over a hundred million dollars for his catastrophically injured clients in cases involving serious automobile collisions, wrongful death, trucking accidents, and other personal injury cases. His extensive trial experience has resulted in recent verdicts that include $1.5 million (ATV rollover); $1.4 million (UM auto); $1.9 million (slip and fall); $1.1 million (slip and fall); $786,000 (motor vehicle crash); $600,000 (dog bite); and numerous multi-million-dollar settlements for his deserving clients, $3.5 million (bus accident); $3.5 (million trucking wrongful death); $4 million (auto wrongful death).

Jim brings all of his legal experience and passion for his clients to help people who are dealing with the unexpected and unnatural death and injury of their closest loved ones. Jim knows that his clients are often experiencing some of the worst times of their lives and he makes it a priority to ensure that every client is represented like he would want his own family member represented. His relentless pursuit of justice on behalf of his clients is what makes Jim stand out in the legal community.

Jim’s legal career began in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps at Naval Base Charleston, South Carolina, where he represented Naval commanders as Trial Counsel in courts martial proceedings and administrative hearings. Prior to joining Morgan & Morgan, Jim was the managing partner of the Tallahassee office of a statewide litigation firm. Since joining Morgan & Morgan, Jim has opened and managed three of the firm’s offices in Florida and South Carolina.

Jim received his BA from the University of Florida and his JD from the University of Louisville. He studied at Oxford University in undergrad and law school. Jim is admitted to the Florida Bar and the U.S. District Courts for the Middle District and Northern District of Florida.

Jim and his wife, Stacy, are the proud parents of four boys, Cameron, Jackson, Nathan and Alex. He loves saltwater fly fishing in the lowcountry and is an enthusiastic, although often, middle-of-the-pack long distance runner.
