Biography

Attorney James W. Copeland is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, multiple federal appellate and district courts, and all courts of record in Georgia. He has also been admitted pro hac vice in cases across Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. In addition to litigating in state and federal courts, he has handled appeals for federal government contractors before various boards, including the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals and the Veterans Administration Board of Contract Appeals. He has also provided counsel in interstate and international matters.

Attorney Copeland earned his law degree from Duke University School of Law, where he served as a staff editor for the Duke Environmental Law and Policy Forum and was a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council. He completed his undergraduate studies in civil engineering at Vanderbilt University in 1988 and worked as a project engineer on construction projects in Florida and Maryland before attending law school.

Before establishing his own firm, Attorney Copeland gained extensive experience as an associate at two law firms and as an equity partner in a construction and employment law firm with offices in multiple states.
