Biography

Jason Benjamin is a highly experienced family law attorney with more than 30 years of dedicated practice focused primarily on complex child custody and high-conflict family law matters. Throughout his career, he has personally handled more than 1,000 cases involving child custody disputes, giving him extensive courtroom experience and a deep understanding of the challenges families face during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Jason is particularly sought after for emergency custody matters, domestic violence cases, and restraining order proceedings. He understands that when families are facing urgent safety concerns, immediate legal action is critical, and he is known for moving quickly to help clients obtain protective orders and emergency relief when needed.

From the start of his legal career, Jason has been a strong advocate for victims of domestic violence, even during times when these issues were not always given the serious attention they deserved in the courts. He understands the complex realities of abusive relationships and approaches these cases with both strategic legal skill and compassion for the difficult decisions victims face.

His practice also involves highly contested custody cases where mental health concerns, personality disorders, substance abuse, and chemical dependency play a significant role. Jason’s decades of trial experience allow him to effectively navigate cases involving complex psychological and addiction-related issues while keeping the focus on protecting children and securing the best possible outcomes for families.

Known for his confidence in the courtroom and persuasive advocacy, Jason is respected throughout the legal community for his trial skills and willingness to take on even the most difficult cases. Many attorneys regularly refer clients to him when a case is likely headed for trial because of his reputation as a strong and effective litigator.

Originally from Omak, Washington, Jason attended Northwestern University in Chicago, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He later returned to Washington State and earned his Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law in 1995.
