Biography

Attorney Jeffrey J. Dean has built a career that reflects both strong legal scholarship and deep community involvement. Early on, he contributed to Mercer Law Review with published articles analyzing major issues in tort law, federal preemption, and white-collar crime, including pieces on Palmer v. Liggett Group, Inc. and the impact of McNally v. United States on the federal mail fraud statute. His work has been recognized with honors such as membership in the Brainerd Currie Honor Society and the American Jurisprudence Award in Business Associations. Mr. Dean is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the high regard of his peers. He has also taken on leadership roles in the local legal and civic community, serving as past president of the Conasauga Bar Association as well as the Dalton Jaycees and the Dalton Civitan Club. In addition, he is a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. Since 1996, he has also served as a mediator. Outside the office, he supports his community through pro bono involvement with the United Methodist Church of Dalton, local Boy Scouts, youth sports, and other civic organizations.
