Jesse Tanksley didn’t set out to be a lawyer, his first goal was to become an FBI agent. But during law school, he worked in a law firm setting and discovered he was drawn to the challenge and purpose of legal advocacy. Jesse is a Hutchinson native who graduated summa cum laude from Washburn University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science, then earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2009. While at KU, he served on the University of Kansas Law Review as a note and comment editor and interned during his third year with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Kansas City, Kansas. After passing the bar, Jesse worked as a research attorney for the Kansas Court of Appeals, assisting with a broad mix of criminal and civil appeals. He later joined Stinson Leonard Street LLP in Wichita, where he represented large companies in complex business and employment litigation. Jesse joined Mann Wyatt & Tanksley in January 2015 and now focuses on negligence and product liability cases. He is licensed in Kansas state and federal court and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, and he is active in several Kansas bar organizations. Away from work, Jesse is most often found with his wife on the sidelines of one of their four kids’ soccer games.
