Mr. Buxton is a native Oklahoman, born and raised in Duncan, Oklahoma. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and his law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law. He and is a graduate of the prestigious Trial Lawyers College, now known as the Gerry Spence Method in Dubois, Wyoming, founded by renowned trial lawyer Gerry Spence. He has been on the teaching Faculty since 2016.
Mr. Buxton is an experienced trial lawyer with over 25 years experience trying cases to juries. He represents people who have been hurt or wronged by the carelessness of others, the greed of insurance companies, or Government negligence . He also represents individuals accused of crimes. His work in civil litigation and trial work has included several record-setting verdicts for Plaintiffs injured by municipalities and has contributed to the development of Oklahoma law concerning governmental responsibility for public infrastructure.
In addition to his active trial practice, Mr. Buxton is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars where he shares his knowledge and experience with other lawyers across the United States. He is the past President of the Oklahoma Association for Justice, Founder of the Oklahoma Association for Justice Mentors Program, and Former member of the American Association for Justice Board of Governors.
Mr. Buxton is licensed to practice in all Oklahoma State and Federal Courts and is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Foundation, Oklahoma County Bar Association, Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity, the American Association for Justice, the Oklahoma Association for Justice, American Board of Trial Advocates, Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
