Biography

John Luke Weaver, a native of Jasper, Georgia, has deep roots in the North Georgia Mountains, where his family has resided since the 1840s. After graduating from Pickens County High School, he earned a Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts in History and Government from Berry College, where he served as President of his graduating class and received the Voice of Berry Award for advocating student interests. John Luke attended The University of Georgia School of Law, where he was on the Executive Board of the Mock Trial Team and founded the Rural Law Society, promoting legal representation in rural areas. He gained practical experience in the Prosecution Clinic, working at the Cobb County Solicitor's Office and the Athens-Clarke County District Attorney's Office, where he successfully prosecuted cases to jury verdict. Beyond law, he has coordinated political campaigns, interned with the Irish Government, and worked locally in heating and air. Currently, he is the Vice-President of the Appalachian Bar Association and serves on the boards of the Development Authority of Pickens County and the Pickens County Chamber of Commerce. In his free time, John Luke enjoys fishing, gardening, traveling, and spending time with his children.
