Jon is a partner in the firm's real estate practice group and specializes in commercial real estate development and finance. His practice is devoted to the representation of lenders, developers and end users of commercial real estate properties. Jon has over thirty-five years' experience in the purchase and sale, development and financing of multi-family, office and retail properties and the formation of limited liability companies, partnerships and joint ventures for these types of properties. He has also developed specific expertise in representing non-profit foundations in the area of "public-private ventures" with state agencies for the construction of student housing and recreational facilities in the state of Georgia and other projects across the southeast.
Jon's closing practice with regional and community banks has broaden his experience in the areas of forbearance, workouts and restructuring agreements involving real estate collateral during recessionary periods. His practice also includes foreclosure, confirmation and deficiency actions for his lending clients. Jon also has extensive experience representing landlords and tenants in connection with office, retail and industrial leases. Based on the firm's long history with representing many automobile dealers, Jon often heads up the acquisition and sales of these franchises dealership and related dealership properties for many of the firm's clients. Prior to joining SWTW in 2003, Jon was a shareholder in an international law firm and played a key role in establishing that firm's Atlanta office.
