Jordan A. Shaw is a partner at Zebersky Payne Shaw Lewenz, LLP. He is Chair of the firm’s Consumer Litigation Practice Group and Co-Chair of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. A Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2016 through 2019, Mr. Shaw represents individuals and businesses in matters involving complex commercial litigation, consumer litigation, financial services litigation, and class action litigation. Serving as outside general counsel for a number of businesses, Mr. Shaw also advises clients on corporate and transactional matters, such as stock and asset acquisitions, operating agreements, employment contracts, authorized retailer and wholesaler agreements, mall and retail lease agreements, and licensing contracts. Mr. Shaw has represented clients ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups and individual consumers, to publicly traded companies and classes of thousands.
Jordan has experience litigating partnership disputes, derivative actions, and other business tort cases, obtaining the largest securities fraud verdict in the State of Florida in 2017. As Chair of the firm’s Consumer Litigation Practice Group, Mr. Shaw has in-depth knowledge of federal and state consumer protection regulations, and handles cases involving improper robocalls (TCPA), consumer debt collection (FCCPA & FDCPA), mortgage and lending fraud issues (TILA & RESPA), and other financial services matters.
Mr. Shaw serves on the University of Miami Law Alumni Association Board of Directors, and has lectured at the University of Miami School of Law and various continuing legal education seminars. He has been nominated for the South Florida Business Journal’s 40 under 40 list, and South Florida Business and Wealth’s “Up and Comer” Award, and has been featured in publications such as the Daily Business Review, Local 10 News, The Miami Herald, The Transportation Lawyer, Courtroom View Network, and The Real Deal.
Prior to joining Zebersky Payne Shaw Lewenz, LLP, Jordan A. Shaw, Esq. was the Managing Partner and co-founder of the South Florida business and trial firm, Shaw Lewenz, LLC, and completed two federal judicial externships, one with Federal Magistrate, Alicia M. Otazo Reyes, and another with the Honorable James Lawrence King.
Mr. Shaw is an alumnus of The University of Miami School of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude and receiving membership to the Order of the Coif, a national honor given only to those “who have demonstrated the highest academic achievement.”
