Mr. José M. Alburquerque C.

José M. Alburquerque C. founded the law firm Alburquerque & Alburquerque in 2002 together with his son.

During his professional life he has held several administrative and academic positions, such as: Director of the School of Law and Acting Dean of the National University Pedro Henríquez Ureña, where he also served as professor of several subjects in the law degree. Likewise, legal director of the National Housing Bank (BNV), and arbitrator of the Dominican Telecommunications Institute (INDOTEL), as well as the Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo.

He focuses his professional practice on advising national and international companies, participating in important commercial operations. His management capacity and high organizational degree make him the right professional to handle cases related to family businesses, their shareholding and corporate structure and the tax aspects of successor transfer, as well as in advising individuals on income tax.

From this experience in tax and legal advice, foreign investors have been favored in the Dominican Republic, both in the formalization of contracts, incorporation of companies and joint ventures, and in the establishment of permanent structures within the country.

As a regular advisor to companies, he has gained extensive experience in corporate restructuring operations, as well as in the design and execution of M&A operations, and strategic alliances, counselling both national and foreign entities.
